AIN'T SHE SWEET

I have been fond of Betty for quite some time now. Just recently I've decided to dig into her past, so the following information has been found and compiled throughout cyber-space. As I learn more, so shall you.

Sexy, yet innocent. But, believe it or not, Betty was created as a dog in the 1930's, by Grim Natwich. She was the love interest of Bimbo, another Dog character.

HMMMMM......Kinda sounds like real life. The girls in school who nobody paid that much attention to - they are usually the knockouts now. And well, the ones who thought they were "it" back then...Well....lets just say they probably shouldn't bring to much attention to themselves now.

Her body was modeled after Mae West and her voice was done by May Questal. Her singing style was after a young lady by the name of Helen Kane. Kane was known as the original "Boop-Boop-A-Doop" girl.

I wonder if that was their version of plastic surgery.

1931 - Koko the clown and Pudgy were introduced. And Bimbo was out.

Poor Bimbo, a dog, lost his love when she became famous. *snicker*

1932 - Betty became the first and only female animated screen star, who could do it all.

I believe she took a break during this time to raise a family. She has kept her personal life very personal though. Todays stars could take a lesson.

1988 - Bettys rebirth had begun with her appearance in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit". The picture below shows how she adored and missed her fans.

When I first had the desire to design a Boop Page, I wanted the page to have it all. But, I started doing the research and have found some superb sites on "Our Boopster". I thought to myself, the only way to improve on a collection of her in cyber-space is to pull all her links together the best I can.
